Claire is the founder of CR Amanya Advocates & Solicitors. She is a Rotarian, a UK trained lawyer, Advocate, a Commissioner of Oaths, a Notary Public, Insolvency Practitioner and a Certified Chartered Secretary with over fifteen (15) years’ experience in legal practice.

Claire holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of Dar es Salaam, a Post
Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, a Master’s in International Business Law from University College of London (UCL), and an Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) Certificate.
Claire acts as counsel to a number of leading multi-national companies operating and/or engaged in transactions in Africa and beyond.

Harold is an Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths. He is a partner at CR Amanya Advocates & Solicitors and currently heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Harold has seven (7) years of experience in legal practice, with a commendable art of execution of insurance, construction, arbitration, intellectual property, domestic relations, human rights enforcement, corporate governance, employment, debt management and recovery instructions.
Harold is a registered insolvency practitioner who has handled several instructions pertaining to closure of companies and settling of company debts.

Herman is the Partner in charge of Finance & Strategy and the Head of the Dispute Resolution Department in the Firm of Ngeri, Omiti & Bush Advocates LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) Degree from Moi University. Herman is also a qualified arbitrator and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Herman is also trained by the Communications Authority of Kenya in joint collaboration with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on critical areas of the Information Communication and Technology regulatory framework in terms of interpretation, implementation and enforcement.

Herman has acted and advised various clients in various areas including Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property Law, Information, Communication & Technology Law, Real Estate Development & Construction Law, Procurement Law, Arbitration & Alternative Dispute Resolution Law & Practice, Media & Technology Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law; Comparative Law and Governance; Environmental and Land Law; Health Law; Tax Law; Procurement Law; Company Law; Insolvency Law; and Employment Law. Collins is the Kenya Country Head of W-AKILI AFRICA and the Managing Partner and Head of the Corporate & Commercial Department at Ngeri, Omiti & Bush Advocates LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Kenyatta University and has trained in Legal & Governance Compliance Audit at the Kenya School of Law.

He brings the Network deep corporate and commercial transactional expertise across Private Equity, Buy-Outs & Investments, Project Financing, Telecommunications, Media & Technology, Tax, Public-Private Partnerships, Mergers & Acquisitions, Banking & Insurance, Mining, Oil & Gas, Capital Markets and Projects & Infrastructure. Dynamic and detail-oriented, Collins has advised and acted for clients within the East African Community (Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi), across the African continent (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Senegal) and beyond (Turkey, China, India, Canada, Mauritius). He has also advised on renewable energy and the legal framework for the establishment of Nuclear Power Plants in Kenya — reflecting the reach he anchors for W-AKILI AFRICA in the Kenyan market.

Christopher is the Partner in charge of Network Strategy at W-AKILI AFRICA and a Founding Partner of Kilindu Giattas & Partners and an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania. He has over twenty (20) years’ experience in corporate and commercial law and was previously an equity Partner at Rex Attorneys (from 2008) in the Banking, Project Finance, Capital Markets & Securities and Mergers & Acquisitions Department, with particular strength in Project Finance, Banking and Capital Markets.

His work spans some of the region’s largest cross-border financings — including advising a lender on a USD 992 million infrastructure facility for Tanzania’s Standard Gauge Railway, forming part of the advisory team on the Government of Tanzania’s first USD 600 million sovereign bond issuance, and advising the incoming lender on the multi-billion-dollar second-phase financing of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) spanning Uganda and Tanzania. He has also advised multinationals such as Toyota Tsusho and Helios Towers on competition matters. Christopher holds an LL.B. (Hons) and LL.M. from the University of Dar es Salaam and an MBA (ESAMI), and is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East Africa Law Society.

Richard RWIHANDAGAZA is the Managing Partner. He is also the Founding Partner of R & Partners Law Firm in February 2006. Richard has been practicing Law as an Advocate since 2001 and has developed expertise in Business and Corporate law, Arbitration and Litigation.

He holds a Law degree from the National University of Rwanda and a Certificate in Arbitration and Alternative Disputes Resolutions, CEAR, 2004 – CIArb, 2012. Richard has also attended with success various training and seminars in the country and abroad in the field of legal practice.

Tom is the Senior Partner at Ngeri, Omiti & Bush Advocates LLP and serves as the Partner in charge of Public Relations at W-AKILI AFRICA. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Dar es Salaam, with further training in the Federal Republic of Germany and Belgium. A registered Patent Agent, he has advised and acted for clients before the regional intellectual property offices ARIPO and WIPO — expertise that strengthens the Network’s cross-border IP practice.

Reputed for keenness and efficiency in his solution-oriented practice, Tom has acted for banks, state corporations, national and county governments and multinationals on cross-border transactions spanning the East African Community, the wider African continent and beyond, including China, India, Canada and the United States. This multi-jurisdictional experience is central to his role in connecting W-AKILI AFRICA’s member firms and clients across the continent. Tom is also a Senior Lecturer of Law at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

George is the Tanzania Country Head of W-AKILI AFRICA and the Managing Partner of Kilindu Giattas & Partners. With over twenty (20) years’ experience, he was previously an equity Partner and Head of the Banking, Project Finance, Capital Markets & Securities and Mergers & Acquisitions Department at Rex Attorneys before founding Kilindu Giattas & Partners in 2014.

Regarded as one of the sharpest minds in corporate and banking law in Tanzania, George has led landmark cross-border matters — among them acting as Tanzanian counsel on the acquisition of one of the largest breweries in East and Central Africa, advising on a Medium Term Note Programme for a regional microfinance institution, and advising on a concession to develop an international airport in Zanzibar. He holds an LL.B. (Hons) from Birmingham City University and an LL.M. (with Merit) from the University of Warwick, and is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society, the East Africa Law Society and Middle Temple Inn — international credentials that reinforce W-AKILI AFRICA’s standing across the region.
